Patella Alta

Blumensatt’s line: a condensed linear shadow on lateral radiographs of the knee, which provides an indication of relative position of the patella.

Ratio of infrapatellar tendon/longest patella messurement = 1 (normal); 1.5 (injury)

Differential:

  1. Trauma: Infrapatella Tendon Rupture
  2. Chondromalacia patellae
  3. Osgood Schlatter Disease
  4. Marfans syndrome and Homocystinuria
  5. Cerebral Palsy
