Jones fracture

  • transverse fracture through the proximal 5th metatarsal, distal to the tuberosity
  • impaction fracture
  • stress injury
  • delayed healing, requires fixation
  • distinguish from avulsion of proximal tip of 5th metatarsal; heals quicker
